School trustees are the members of the school district's Board of Education they are locally elected representatives of the public and they are the communities advocates for public education in their local school district trustees are required to carry out the responsibilities in a manner that assists the board in fulfilling its duties under the school act a trustee's role is to maintain a focus on student achievement and well-being and to participate in making decisions that benefit the entire hired District a representing the interests of their Community along with many other important roles as a trustee a few key roles and responsibilities include 1 they are the ear and the voice of the community they represent 2 they are familiar with current educational Trends 3 they act as a liaison providing them the opportunity to connect learn and appreciate the unique qualities of each School for they attend District school functions and keep a breast of community events 5 they facilitate smooth Transitions and Foster positive reactions to change in policy trustees carry out their responsibilities through a perfect wide and corporate board lens School trustees connect communicate and advocate for Student Success
